Hometown: Fairview , NC
When did you move to Charlotte?: Fairview is just outside of the Mecklenburg County area. I have lived in Fairview, North Carolina since I was 10 years old. I grew up with a strong sense of family and community that led me to never leave.
What pushed you to construction?: I literally fell into construction. I started working with a local general contractor right out of high school. As the firm grew so did my responsibilities. I enjoy working with the different contractors and watching a project develop from conception to becoming a building envisioned as someone’s home, business, church or local park.
What is your biggest accomplishment professionally?: To be able to look at a situation and find a solution even when the answer is outside of the box. To be trusted with someone’s dream and help assist them as the strive to obtain it.
What do you like to do outside of work?: When I am not working my family loves to swim, shoot, fish, and explore historical buildings/homes. My favorite getaway is the Biltmore House (a place you can do all the above.) I pick one architectural feature to concentrate on each time I go. Have you noticed the detailed carvings on the fireplaces and the gargoyles?
Organizations or Community Involvement?: I am very mission oriented supporting our troops, service personnel, and church. I enjoyed teaching Senior Chair Yoga, Beginner’s Yoga and participating on the Fairview Town Council Planning Board.
A favorite quote?: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
